Arthur Christopher Plummer Orme (nascut pe 13 decembrie 1929) este un actor canadian de teatru, film si televiziune. Intr-o cariera care cuprinde peste cinci decenii, actorul a avut roluri importante in film, televiziune, si teatru. Plummer este cel mai cunoscut pentru rolul remarcabilului Capitan von Trapp in The Sound of Music cat si pentru cel al Generalului Chang in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Plummer s-a nascut in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, fiul lui Isabella Maria si al lui John Plummer, secretar al decanului de Stiinte la Universitatea McGill. Strabunicul din partea mamei, Sir John Abbott, a ocupat functia de prim-ministru al Canadei.

Casatoriti in februarie 1929, parintii lui Plummer au divortat la scurt timp dupa ce acesta s-a nascut, Arthur fiind singurul copil la parinti. A crescut in casa familiei Abbott in Senneville, Quebec, inafara Montrealului.

Christopher a studiat pentru a deveni pianist de concert, dar de la o varsta frageda a dezvoltat o pasiune pentru teatru si a inceput sa joace in piese in liceu. Calatorea cu trenul impreuna cu Teatrul Canadian Repertory (CRT) din Ottawa pentru a castiga experienta.
